HFCL and Shankar Sharma are in news for wrong reason

HFCL and Shankar Sharma are in news but for bad reason. Recently Himachal Futuristic Communications (HFCL) rose like Bahubali and then hitting lower circuit from few days. This is not the only reason which can be forgotten thinking market may behave like this.

Both HFCL and Shankar Sharma were in news in 2009. They were in news together with Ketan Parekh.

India’s capital markets regulator on Friday ordered Shankar Sharma, vice-chairman and joint managing director of First Global Stock Broking Ltd, not to trade in shares for one year.

Ketan Parekh, a Mumbai-based stockbroker, was involved in the stock market scam of 2000-2001. Parekh allegedly rigged share prices of firms in collusion with promoters through circular trading. Under this method, sell orders are entered by a broker who knows that offsetting buy orders for the same number of shares at the same time and at the same price have either already been or will be entered. As a result, these trades don’t represent any change in the beneficial ownership of the security. In December 2003, Sebi banned Parekh and associated firms from trading in the market for 14 years.
In its order against Sharma, the regulator said that First Global and a Sebi-registered sub-broker, Vrudhi Confinvest India Pvt. Ltd, had made large transactions in 10 securities that Parekh had used, such as Himachal Futuristic Communications Ltd, DSQ Software Ltd and Zee Telefilms Ltd.

SEBI bans Shankar Sharma for 1 year.

Market regulator SEBI is too efficient to do anything. It is like TRAI which just enjoy its life. Recently TRAI has been seen doing some work though.

Shankar Sharma has been banned in 2001 too.

A famous blog is also quoted for this HFCL story. This blog mention Shankar Sharma as one of the most regarded value picker of India market. This is not the first time this blog Shankar Sharma like that. This blog's mention of Shankar Sharma has impressed me too. I understood him as a very high quality small Cap value picker. But now I need to be careful. The blog must have mentioned him in some way about this involvement in past when they talk so big about him. In normal case, if they think, Shankar is a good man now and that was his past then they could ignore that past!

Porinju Veliyath also recommended HFCL recently. He has a very big fan following. He is also being asked by his followers.

SEBI Shocked Stock Market today

SEBI has shocked Stock market today. It has banned 331 companies that will trade only on 1st of every months now. Next trading on 4th of Sept, 2017. The issue won't settle so soon. Many companies will go to court etc.

About 140 companies out of 331 are from Kolkata region.

Many companies banned are well known too. Example: Prakash industries are J Kumar Infraprojects big companies. Prakash industries was in highlight as Rakesh Jhunjhunwala is invested here. J Kumar Infraproject is known due to many report about its order book and its investment worthiness.

Know about SEBI rule for trading in these 331 listed companies. Also, list is available of banned companies. Search able list could not be found. 

HDIL touched 20% lower circuit. Settled at 18% loss. Many companies given lower circuit and given heavy loss to retail investors in companies that are not even in SEBI banned companies list. MidCap and SmallCap index posted ~ 1.25% loss and Sensex posted 0.78% loss.

Optiemus infracom has NSE listing today. Its manufactured Blackberry KeyOne was available for purchase on Amazon today. But this stock posted 8.87% loss.

Sebi introduces GSM, stricter surveillance for stocks

This process actually started on June 9, 2017. These companies failed Modi's demonetization! Over lakh of shell companies got closed. Today was the day for listed companies. Corruption won't be toletrated.
Retail investors got struck in many of these companies as they cannot come out. Even when it will be available for trading on 4th of Sept then that day it is allowed to sell but not to buy. (Don't understand what this mean! If not allowed to buy and how anyone can sell?)

Don't Forget How you Supported Anna and his Dedicated Team

Now, Lokpal bill is going to pass in parliament and it will become a law, I request to all people who has supported Anna and his dedicated and intelligent team that do not forgot your good work and carry over wherever you go and whatever you do. This bill will enable few people to watch people in government and in judiciary but they can also become corrupt over time if you do not show anti-corrupt attitude. All the work will go waste and all money that is going to be spend on watch dog for anti-corruption will continue to go waste.

Our leaders are corrupt and dirty because we are like that in lesser extent. To handle people like us they need to be like that. Team Anna cannot say this otherwise you may not have supported them. So, they just pointed on few 'looking factual' thing. Ramdev baba just pointed on money stashed away in foreign bank. But the real point is corruption. Corruption will reduce and efficiency of government will increase only if we as common public carry it over. Government is dependent of bureaucrats. Then few people who work at high level of government offices and judiciary cannot dare to do at such extent. They are taking bribe in crores or lakhs of crores.

The burden lies to good people to unite and support other good people for good society. Only good people of our society can support good thing in society and they need to raise voice in common public for anything bad happening.

Yesterday, I came to know that Arvind Kejriwal has worked for activating RTI (Right To Information) at grassroot level. He is doing great work from long time in this regard. We will remember him for bringing this kind of most basic and important things. Now he has supported Anna and his team for bringing Jan Lokpal Bill.

Background of Jan Lokpal Bill

The word Lokpal was coined in 1963 by L.M.Singhvi, a Member of Parliament during a debate in Parliament about grievance redressal mechanisms. His son Dr. Abhishek Singhvi is now the head of the Parliamentary Standing Committee reviewing the bill. The prefix Jan (translation: citizens) was added to signify the fact that these improvements include input provided by "ordinary citizens" through an activist-driven, non-governmental public consultation.

The Lokpal bill was first introduced by Shanti Bhushan in 1968 and passed the 4th Lok Sabha (Lower house) in 1969. But before it could be passed by Rajya Sabha (upper house of the Parliament of India), Lok Sabha was dissolved and the bill lapsed. The Subsequent versions were re-introduced in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 and in 2008, but none of them passed. The bill is inspired of setting up an independent commission like Independent Commission Against Corruption (Hong Kong) (ICAC).

Bagmane Tech Park - In Support of Anna Hazare and against Corruption

Today, people from Bagmane Tech Park, Bangalore, India went on to show his support to Anna Hazare and his dedicated team. This was a demonstration against corruption. People sought slogans and did a march from BTP, Bangalore to BEML gate/circle.

Good and Smart Work by Indian Police

Generally Indian police work under corruption and then they does not apply their mind. Corruption is everywhere and police department is no exception. We flay harshly to Indian Police and its service for all those reason. Many times they work intelligently as well but we think those are exceptions and we do not praise for those actions. It is our duty to give enough praise to support then when they work like a gentleman, when they work smart.

Here is a case where Indian Police has worked in very smart way. It is a case of rape. Rapist raped foreign girls and taken valuable items from them. The case is related to place Anekal, near Bangalore. Two German women gang raped by seven people. Police rounded up 100 youths from Anekal and nearby area and paraded for identification by victims. But victims could not identify any of them. So, it was a blind case without any clues.

Police thought to solve this case on their own and laid out a strategy for this. Some policemen posed as a photographers and went to Anekel for free training. Many Villagers came for free photography training. Among them where accused also. Many came with their own camera for training and accused came with stolen camera. Police could find victims photos on them as well. Police arrested four of them at the spot. Is this not the good strategy by police. Is this not a smart move by police! Good show by police, right! Spread the word!

Yoga Guru Ramdev as Prime Minister / Baba's Political Party in Power

By this time all may be aware of Baba Ramdev. He is a yoga guru and has made a big brand of himself and his products. His products include teaching yoga at Haridwar, and Ayurvedic medicines. Ayurvedic medicine are selling like a cake at numerous shops around India. Established brands (Baidyanath, Zandu, Dabur,..) are feeling suffocated. His Ayurvedic products comes with the name of Patanjali.

Ramdev baba after making a brand of himself and his organization want to work for India in the field of political system. He want to give India a corruption free party. He also want to run the country by bringing his party to power. He is eying 2014 Lok Sabha (Parliament) election. According to plan, Ramdev Baba's party will contest all the 500+ seats in Lok Sabha. I am not opposed to his idea.

I am not opposed to Ramdev Baba's idea. I wish to support his cause for the country. I am not like whatever good someone says and I will go behind him for proving he is wrong. In India I have met this kind of creature in numbers. I wish society changes in this matter.

With moral support to Ramdev's cause and wish to see India a developed and happy country, I request Ramdev Baba to form a party at state level first and not at the country level. Talking about the MNC brand and Swadeshi (self-sufficiency) is very easy and it appeal to common masses. But on reality it is very difficult. Ramdev Baba need to work on the same society which is corrupt in its core. He cannot wish to get a different society when in power. Chalking out a plan for forcefully migrated Kashmari Pandits from his own home, plan for changing the mindset of people on corruption, plan for security of India and many many more very complex issues cannot be solved by just Swadeshi movement. I want to see how he perform when in government, when in power, how he handles people coming from corrupt society [India and don't idiotically think Bihar :)] where making money in anyway is mind game and a sign of intelligence. When he can successfully run a government at state level then we will be assured at some level. I am not demanding to cure all illness of any state before going to India level, but just asking for curing some of the problem Indian society is facing. He do not need to go to Bihar, a poor state compared to few. He can work for prosperous state like Karnataka, Maharashtra and others. Karnataka people are tired of all main parties here. You all know Godwa has given name to Karnataka as Kar-Nataka (do-drama), Yeddyurappa proved as feeble and corrupt, and we know here that congress party people are not different. So, at least win the state election here at Karnataka and show us your style of functioning. Then I will believe that he or his party at center is boon for the whole of India.

One more organization felt threatened by WikiLeaks

Just read the news that Bank of America Cuts Services for WikiLeaks. This is one more frightened entity feel threatened by WikiLeaks cables. WikiLeaks accepts donations for the free service it is providing to the world citizens. WikiLeaks cables/tahalka news has helped many Africans countries get rid of large scale corruptions in the country. It has created general awareness in people mind how his masters/political leaders are managing their money. That time America and other strong nations showed no reservation about WikiLeaks. Now the same things for America and other nations has made WIkiLeaks illegal.

Do not you know how many important failures has gone missing in the name of country's sovereignty. Even according to Indian existing Law such sensitive documents after 20 years can be made public so that citizens can know what has happened. You have listened how those documents from defences has gone missing. WikiLeaks is helpful in such cases. Actually WikiLeaks is little bad for Government and even sometimes for other reason, but it very useful for upliftment of common people. Our govt. establishment, big leaders have their own rule and they follow their own rule. WikiLeaks is helping to uncover those secrets so that we can decide our future, we can decide about our leaders. Big countries and influential leaders are finding difficult to digest it, therefore want to stop this.

Banks banning for donations to WikiLeaks will make WIkiLeaks functioning too difficult and it may automatically close down. We should help protect it.

America has used many times the term terrorist for getting world attention for its use. You all know how much money USA funds to Pakistan, how it provides and sell Arms to Pakistan in name of helping Pakistan govt in name of fighting terrorism, where all those money is used against us. America is a mean country. USA has used the same word for its founder Julian Assange.

Nitish is working like a wikiLeaks founder

Can Nitish survive this kind of tough solution for those many behind corruption? Nitish is planning to bring 'Right to Service' Bill in Bihar. Corrupt people combined may throw out Nitish or hope they will find many loopholes in the rule. I want Nitish to stay there even if he can work slowly. Corruption is so wide and strong here that you cannot fight it out easily. You may have listened news how whistle blower killed etc. He is taking a big risk by implementing such kind of tough solution. There is already a law in place which allow state government in Bihar to confiscate property of accused during trail by court approval. This has been implemented in 2010 in Bihar. The new Bill 'Right to Service' will come into affect in April,2011 as per plan. This Bill will make the public servant accountable for time framed service to public failing which the officials concerned could be penalized.

Recently, you may be listening that how WikiLeaks founder is opening the lid from many secrets. His life is in danger as he has taken challenges from top notch bureaucrats and politicians across countries by disclosing the secrets related to corruption, social crime on war prisoners etc. Hope WikiLeaks founder and Nitish Kumar (Bihar CM) can survive all troubles.

Update (13-Dec-2010): Recently Nitish is decided to end the MLA fund. Each MLA receive 3 crores every year for development. But all generally goes under corruption. Again, how he can think of it? How he will get approval from his party MLA and others!

CWG (Commonwealth) Games in Delhi, 2010

I am voicing my concern about making India down. It rarely happens that two few people bring such an embarrassment to so many people. The level with which the game has been organized cannot be described. It is too much. We say that we are good in hosting. If you take only this point then this, much mismanagement cannot happen. Here it is 54 countries, who participate in CWG games. In the name of pride, those people who were part of management, Delhi govt and Union govt cannot be spared.

Viswanathan Anand is saying that I am interested to count medals India is going to win. Do not allow anyone to come and all medals will be won by India. This time this Commonwealth games has broken all records of corruptions in India. News came that even in Queen's baton relay; corruption has entered by asking Cabs to charge more, so that extra money can be shared.

Today, I tuned into Radio and listen that countries has started to send their contingent. It is very good news. However, I am not ready to forget everything that has happened with the commonwealth games 2010 (CWG). We should raise our voices once CWG games are over.

Pakistan in Peril

It is visible a long ago that I am not giving time to this blog. I want to write here as well but I could not give it enough time after working and doing blah blah stuff on my technical blog. Still sometime I got time to write and some issue forces me to write. This is one such issue.

Over time, I have no sympathy to corrupt peoples and those kinds of people who spread hatred and venom. These people will do everything and when you even complain and retaliate then they say that see they are doing the same. Pakistan definitely comes in the same bracket. Over the year, it is taken help from China just for fighting the false war with India. It takes lots of money from International community in name of elevating poverty but what it does is you all know - spreading terrorism all over the world .  Recent flood is said to be covering 20-25 % of Pakistan population. Think it is quarter of whole country and not just any state in a country.

World over, people are thinking that accepting by Pakistan that India is not the biggest threat to India and it is extremism that has spread all over Pakistan is the biggest threat to Pakistan is a good outcome. Many think that it is just a gimmick by Pakistan to overcome the current tide and earn larger overseas contribution. Whatever be the reason and outcome, I think India must not change it hard instance against Pakistan and try to strengthen itself.

A casual look at Pakistan's ruling elite and their lifestyle is enough for donors — countries and individuals — to hold back their contributions.

US policy on Pakistan has long been guided by fear. Very early into his term, President Obama openly suggested that Washington had to pay off Pakistan to keep terrorists away from US shores.

Should New Delhi pursue a similar policy? Consider this. If India were to offer Pakistan $100 million in aid (more than what any other country has and an offer that would be harder to refuse than $5 million), it would still amount to less than five rupees per head. But why should India offer such a large sum when millions in India are starving? Well one way of looking at it is continued attrition through terrorism may be costing India more and an outright war to stop this could run into billions — so why not try a $100 million olive branch at a time when humanitarian concern also call for it? The catch though, as the US has found on this slippery slope, is that the beast may never be sated.

Greed of BCCI and other Sports Governing Body in India

Any Indian and other countries who know the state of sports in India know the pathetic condition of sports in India. India barely manage to get Gold in Olympic and other major tournaments in any form of game. Still sport is highly neglected issue in India. May be because our politician know well that sports count negligibly when it comes to vote bank. They cannot increase vote on count of Sport condition. Our policies and promises (false!) moves around the illiterate or very poor voters in India. And it is true that those poor people deprived of even basic facilities cannot think of sport at International level or at any level. So, politicians and others who can control do not think of it much.

Very recently in Jun/Feb 2010, you may have listened, how our Hockey National players who were going to play hockey at World Cup 2010 was treated when they asked their due. They just asked their due and money and not money for free. So, what you can expect out of the team where they are going to give fight to top nations and players prepared in developed nations!

The same problem (money problem) is not here in cricket but the problem of negligence, greed and politics is here in the form of selection and schedule. After the last World Cup 2007 debacle. That time Dhoni was selected and selection was corrected as I felt. But that was not only for sprots but that was possibly for money. Cricket blows like a wind in India. Money comes like a free fall leaves in Autumn. So, at least for money and advertiser do not go away from cricket sponsorship right selection was done and that worked as well. The result is before you as First in Test ranking and 2nd in ODI from 5th place at that time.

Greed has shown in recent months in the form of IPL deals and too tight schedule. IPL board and BCCI has done deals where it was not clear who owns which team. Shilpa Shetty has said, "I wake to know that I do not own a team". Shilpa Shetty own Rajasthan Royals IPL team. Papers were not correct and there can be corruption in tax but only big parties was involved so that can be buried with time.

Recently in a weeks time, team need to prepare for T20 World Cup 2010. After one and half months play for Indian Premier League they need to perpare for T20 World Cup. Final played on April 25th 2010. T20 World cup first mathc played on Friday April 30th. All teams played warm up matches but Indian team cannot play any warm-up match due to the schedule problem. Warm-up matches started from April 27. West Indies pitch is bouncy and it is well know to all teams. And it is also well known that Indian players are week on bouncy pitch still no warm-up match planned there. This is all due to schedule which is not decided by players but only management. Due to security issue IPL was not played on time and shifted to the schedule you know. But World Cup is important and this must be respected. Because tournament like this is very important and it is every teams responsibility to make it a success. So, when a team do not try to perform well, how can one know that the best teams are playing there and those who ever will win is really a very good team. Indian players are not given chance to play well due to hectic schedule set by BCCI and IPL governing body. So, it is not the players but the management of IPL that need to be punished.

BCCI has decided to snatch captianship from captain Dhoni for his small remark that parties are responsible for the bad performance of player. So, must not have made IPL responsible for the performance but he said about parties after IPL play because he know that how much money IPL make for all. So, he just said in a low voice instead of telling in loud voice that IPL is responsible. But people are telling that parties cannot be responsible for the defeat. It is true it is not the parties but the greed who is responsible for such a defeat. Gary Kristen had warned about this previously but instead of listening to it, he has given gag order by the management.Times of India has posted a very pointed summary on 13th, May about India's T20 World Cup debacle. After lots of criticism, MS Dhoni is saved from BCCI axe for now but lets see who and when anyone become a scapegoat of BCCI.

Corruption in Office

In my 3.5 yrs of experience as Web Developer/Software Engineer I saw variety of corruption in office. These corruptions are part of our society and software companies are not untouched by it.
These are in plenty in small to medium level companies.

You may get corruption in these forms:

• You will not get credits of work you do


• Seniors may take all credits


• Seniors may prevent you from directly interacting to upper management or they may threaten you from telling anything there


• If you are laborious and little smarter then you may have to face resistance from others in your environment

These were all common kind of corruption in office in India.

Corruption in India

"Corruption is in the root of Indian society". If a foreigner has said this statement then you might say that I am supporting outsider’s voice. But it is very truth for our society. Either we do corruption or support corruption. Many time people do not do anything corrupt but accept and enjoy fruit of corruption from corrupt people and then support corruption.
