8th Theater Olympics - Prem Chand Rashtriya Rangshala, Patna, Bihar, India

8th Theater Olympics are being organized at many places in India this time. Artists from different countries and different locations in India has come to participate in this event. Prem Chand Rashtriya Rangshala, Patna in Bihar is one such place.

Today, I went to Patna location. There AALAV (The Calling) was played by Kashmiri people.

8th Theatre Olympics 2018 India is organised at many places in India. I went today at Patna location. Patna- 8th Theatre Olympics 2018 India.
Today's drama was presented by "Theatre of Kashmir", Srinagar. I could not understand much by seeing it as language was Kashmiri but later Director meet was also organised. There, I understood that due to fight in Kashmir, youth was getting killed and women are left in numbers. So, in drama there was more women then men.

Arshad Mushtaq (Director) has taken story from J M Synge’s Irish play Riders to the Sea.

In Director's meet:
One guy from public has questioned - Why is this drama has so many casts whereas original story has four casts and it is based on ship and a young boy who never returned. So, how you based this story on Kashmir. This story has nothing to do with Kashmir.
The director's reply was this - I has taken this story from there and it is our creative freedom.
(I think when story is not matching to what is shown and even place is also not matching and context is also very different than what is presented then why Director has used the story of any foreign writer and informed us that at start???
Kashmiri Director just wanted to misguide us. He used foreign writer give weightage to his story. We got impression that a foreign writer has said so).

Director also told us that our tax money is being used for creating story about Kashmir and there is no real story that we listen in media. Govt is eating based on that. He said that story that 40 terrorists has been killed etc comes out but why no Bihari labor has been killed etc. If killing and stone pelting happens then outside labourers will also get killed.

If that guy from public has not informed us that then I would have not known the real story is nothing to do with what is presented to us.
Also, killing of outsider also comes. Bihari and Orissa laborers were killed. But not every single person killed there will come here and we won't remember all.

Then one lady (a Muslim lady, which was looking like a planted one) asked to Director that in Kashmir, no one can raise story of Kashmiri. Is this the reason that you are afraid of telling the story in full emotion! She also said that in Kashmir, CRPF used to go into every home in 1990. She has said, I was there as social worker then.

( I took this question as being complementing to director's version that Kashmiri are denied of any right. )

Separate Mithila State Demand from Bihar; If Mithila than create Bhojpur as well

After Center's decision to carve out separate Telangana state from Andhra Pradesh, India, more demand are coming for smaller states in India. After India's Independence, many states were created based on language. That created linguistic division and regionalism. Those people were part of the process responsible for the division in society.
Img: Wikipedia

Mithila region of Bihar is asking for new state. Though the demand is not very strong till date but one by one new states are forming and it may happen that few local leaders aspire for CM post of future Mithila state. If Mithila state is formed then two different regions -  Bhojpur and Magadh will be left in Bihar which can be distinguished. I think in that case lets create one more state called Magadh or Bhojpur so that Mithila, Bhojpur and Magadh can identify themselves with their states.

Due to prevalent regionalism in India, political parties use religion, regionalism and other things to divide people of India. For those reasons and others, polarization happen based on those divided line. So, lets divide Bihar based on linguistic line so that Bihari can unite as well like many states (Tamil Naidu, Kerala, and Gujarat etc) on the line of Language!

Patna Qalam - Patna School of Painting

Patna School of Painting or Patna Qalaam or company painting is a style of Indian Painting, which existed in Bihar, India in the 18th and 19th centuries. Patna Qalaam was world’s first independent school of painting which dealt exclusively with the commoner and his lifestyle also helped Patna Kalam paintings gain in popularity.

Recently Govt of Bihar, released a calendar based on series of Patna Kalam paintings which has revived 250 years old style of painting. It is remembered first time since Independence by Govt of Bihar. It is a Tale of Mango Girls

A village in India plants 10 mango tree when a girl child is born as rituals or say customary in that village. This provides money for education, and upbringing of girl. Due to this no dowry death and any female infanticide reported from that village.

The village is located in Bihar and its name is "Dharhara". It is age old practice carried out from 300 years.

Wait for the movie to know more about it. Kiran Bedi will be there in movie. Till then you can read these articles:

Bihari: Lets Not Just Go With Party Lines

Hello Bihari Friends, Lets not just go with party line. Think for Bihar when deciding about your action in next election. Lets not forget the Nitish as well. Standing tall when Bihar has no name (instead defamed), working for its development, facing all those who has energy to malign Bihar image but not for its development, taking bribery and then also not working correctly and on time was part of Bihar day to day life for officials there. The time is for regional parties. On south, it is regional parties/ regional stalwarts who has bought some development to the region and not central leaders. I see on a Facebook post, BJP is clearly the winner but it may not be the case of Non-Facebook user. So, it may happen that your VOTE just work to divide 'good vote' and help LALOO win the election. So, please be careful. Keep voting choice open for Nitish till last day and then decide. Thanks!

Sushruta - Father of Surgery

If you never heard about Sushruta then you missed another chance of being proud about India. It is another fact where we are lagging today and need to catch up.

He is called as the "Father of Surgery". Some says about him as Father of Plastic Surgery. Yes, plastic surgery at that time.

Read yourself the paragraphs I have taken from Wiki:

Sushruta made numerous contributions to the field of surgery. He demonstrated the surgical techniques of making incisions, probing, extraction of foreign bodies, alkali and thermal cauterization, tooth extraction, excisions, and trocars for draining abscess draining hydrocele and ascitic fluid. He described the removal of the prostate gland, urethral stricture dilatation, vesiculolithotomy, hernia surgery, caesarian section, management of haemorrhoids, fistulae, laparotomy and management of intestinal obstruction, perforated intestines, and accidental perforation of the abdomen with protrusion of omentum. He gave details of the six types of dislocations, twelve varieties of fractures, and classification of the bones and their reaction to the injuries. He provided principles of fracture management, viz., traction, manipulation, appositions and stabilization including some measures of rehabilitation and fitting of prosthetics. He classified eye diseases (76) with signs, symptoms, prognosis, medical/surgical interventions, and cataract surgery. He described the method of stitching the intestines by using ant-heads as stitching material. He was the first to deal with embryology and sequential development of the structures of the fetus. He pioneered the dissection and study of anatomy of human body. He introduced the use of wine to dull the pain of surgical incisions. He enumerated 1120 illnesses, and recommended diagnosis by inspection, palpation and auscultation.

Sushruta was a Bihari and lived in Varanashi, Uttar Pradesh.

I myself was not aware of it. Spread the words.

The economic strangulation of Bihar

You can read here how Bihar is denied even its rightful share of central resources. Even in agriculture which is still happening in Bihar, NABARD is investing minimal compared to other states. You see lots of central govt. institution is outside Bihar. What those central govt institution is doing there. Developing light combat aircraft in 25 years and then also somehow it can fly. This is not just an enough example.
  • As opposed to an All-India per capita developmental expenditure (from 2000 to 2002) of Rs 6748.50, Bihar's is less than half at Rs 3,206.00.
  • But Bihar is being systematically denied, let alone the additional assistance its economic and social condition deserves, but also what is its rightful due. From the pitiful per capita investment in Bihar, it is obvious that the Central Government has been systematically starving Bihar of funds.
  • That politics has a lot to do with neglect is seen from the fact that while AP received Rs 3,507.60 crore (1998 to 2000) as "additional Central assistance for externally-aided projects in State Plans," Bihar received just Rs 306.90 crore.Even in terms of grants from the Central Government (2000 to 2002), Bihar fares poorly. It received Rs 4,047.30 crore while AP topped the list with Rs 9,790.00 crore. Bihar has also been neglected as far as net loans from the Centre are concerned. It received just Rs 2,849.60 as against Rs 6,902.20 received by AP from 2000-02.
  • Similarly, Bihar received a pittance from the financial institutions, a mere Rs 551.60 per capita, as opposed to the national average of Rs 4,828.80 per capita. This could presumably be explained away by the fact that Bihar now witnesses hardly any industrial activity. But no excuses can be made for the low investment by NABARD.

On a cumulative per capita basis (2000 to 2002) Bihar received just Rs 119.00 from NABARD as against Rs 164.80 by AP and Rs 306.30 by Punjab. It can be nobody's argument that there is no farming in Bihar.

A Funny Joke on Laloo Yadav (Lalu Yadav)

There are many jokes on famous Laloo Yadav, but this joke reads very funny and hilarious to me because there is no politics in it!
Rabri Devi died and went to heaven (Don't Laugh).
As she stood in front of yamraj , she saw a huge wall of clocks behind.
She asked, "What are all those clocks?" Yamraj answered, "Those are LieCloks. Everyone on Earth has a LieClock. Every time you lie, the hands on your clock will move."
"Oh," said Rabri, "Who's clock is that?" That's Gautam Buddha's. The hands have never moved indicating that he never told a lie.
"And whose clock is that?" That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have only moved twice, telling us that Abraham only told 2 lies in his entire life."
Rabri asked, "Where's my Laloo's clock?" "Laloo's clock is in my office", replied yamraj, "I'm using it as a ceiling fan.

IIM - Ahmadabad Graduates are not getting Job!!!

A new story here about IIM-A. A graduate from the institute has not landed a job and started selling vegetables!

Here is a story of Kaushalendra, who has graduated from prestigious IIM-A. Ahmedabad's IIM, I think is the best even among IIMs. Still, after getting the degree, Kaushalendra thought to choose selling vegetables as his career. He desires to sell vegetables from Bihar to whole of India. He is selling vegetables under the brand name of "Samriddhi" (progress). He want to make a brand Bihar. So, Bihar branded vegetable he want to sell. Be ready to buy vegetables from Bihar even you are living in different state. He has said to market in India only, so only qualification to be a customers of his company is to be an Indian. :)

You may have also listened a news that one guy from Bihar started helping Rickshaw pullers and want to change lives of rickshaw puller. Ya, that was a different one and not the same person forced to switch job after unsuccess ;). That Bihari IIM-A graduate is helping rickshaw puller instead of wishing to sit at revolving chair and in AC cabin. His name is Irfan Alam. His business concept has changed the lives of 5,000,00 rickshaw puller in eight states as reported in ibnlive by Oct, 2010 article.

For more on Kaushalendra, again IIM-A graduate.

Nitish is working like a wikiLeaks founder

Can Nitish survive this kind of tough solution for those many behind corruption? Nitish is planning to bring 'Right to Service' Bill in Bihar. Corrupt people combined may throw out Nitish or hope they will find many loopholes in the rule. I want Nitish to stay there even if he can work slowly. Corruption is so wide and strong here that you cannot fight it out easily. You may have listened news how whistle blower killed etc. He is taking a big risk by implementing such kind of tough solution. There is already a law in place which allow state government in Bihar to confiscate property of accused during trail by court approval. This has been implemented in 2010 in Bihar. The new Bill 'Right to Service' will come into affect in April,2011 as per plan. This Bill will make the public servant accountable for time framed service to public failing which the officials concerned could be penalized.

Recently, you may be listening that how WikiLeaks founder is opening the lid from many secrets. His life is in danger as he has taken challenges from top notch bureaucrats and politicians across countries by disclosing the secrets related to corruption, social crime on war prisoners etc. Hope WikiLeaks founder and Nitish Kumar (Bihar CM) can survive all troubles.

More..

Update (13-Dec-2010): Recently Nitish is decided to end the MLA fund. Each MLA receive 3 crores every year for development. But all generally goes under corruption. Again, how he can think of it? How he will get approval from his party MLA and others!

Bihar Economic Development is Real!

Today's S.A. Aiyar article about Bihar economic development shed light about the current situation on economic status and possible economic development Bihar can see in future. He have mentioned some data that tells that Bihar economic development is true and is well a miracle economy. GDP growth of 8 percent or more is thought to be miracle economy.

Recent statement by few leaders (bad leaders) that Bihar economic development is not a true story but a hogwash is not true and no one has manipulated the growth story of Bihar.
Here you can see the data present in support of the Bihar development:

He not only given CSO data but also thought of the leaders nature and natural process of winning election. For example, he tell that no politician can claim to win election on the basis of economic growth. People's personal experience matter much.

Few more points from the same article:
In Lalu’s time, swaggering goons showed off their guns in public. Today no gunman is visible. The Nitish administration has convicted 38,000 people, including dozens of politicians, some from the ruling party itself — for violating the Arms Act.

The economic miracle has been led by construction, which has averaged a colossal growth rate of 47% per year for the last five years. Government development spending has zoomed from Rs 2,000 crore to Rs 16,000 crore per year.

Most impressive has been the rise in road construction, from 384 kilometres in 2004-05 to 2,417 kilometers in 2008-09. Security plus road and telecom expansion have incubated a boom in small business and domestic construction.

However, large-scale industries has not shown growth. Organized sector output actually fell in the Lalu era from Rs 1,150 crore in 1999-00 to Rs 790 crore in 2004-05 at constant prices, and has stagnated under Nitish. Big industry owner are waiting for election in Bihar. What will be the outcome of
next election will decide the growth of large-scale industries. Many large industries have proposed big investments.

Are you from Bihar? If yes, then you may like to be a member of this Facebook Group!

Raj Attacks on North Indian and Burning Bihar

Raj attacked on North Indian railway exam aspirant and not only on Bihari people. On the Railway Examination day Raj men attacked on any one who their people think are outside of the state. It is different matter that one aspirant died is Bihari. Many injured from other states too.

Bihar is unnecessary taking on its on. It is right Bihar must fight for this 'gundagardi' in Mumbai but by resorting to violence and reacting on their own it looks fighting with Raj Thackery is Bihar only job. All other states have played trick by siding itself. On that day students from all India would be there. Student from Bihar, Bangal, Uttar Predesh and other states are targeted. All states must have raised concern in one voice. Still, if Bihar feels need to fight with Thackerays'(Raj and Bal) then they must fight in Mumbai itself through community development and whatever actions they can take there. Just using violence in Bihar is not helping their cause.

Raj Thackeray and Bal Thackeray wants to polarize the Maharashtra politics for their gain in coming elections. Both do not have anything to do for Maharashtra people. Bal Thackeray is already taken benefits of this by polarizing the vote back against South Indian.
