Prayer – What is it?

There is affirmative prayer method which is called Scientific prayer.
Rather than begging or beseeching God, this method involves connecting with the spirit of God within and asserting positive beliefs about the desired outcome. Affirmative prayer is the same method of prayer Jesus taught when he said, “So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24).

If, for example, one were to pray traditionally, one might say: “Please God, help me find a job.” By contrast, an affirmative prayer might be: “I am now guided to my right and perfect employment.”

Lingayats religion - What is it and who has established it?

Recently we came to know about new "religion" which is called Lingayats. It is a new terms for most of us who thought it as Caste in Hindu religion. Many would not have known it as caste too outside Karnataka State.

Recently, Congress party in preparation for the next state election as given recognition as a separate religion and not a part of Hindu religion. This raised interest to know in simple term what is it and what is the significance of it in India. I was looking for simple write-ups that tells me the whole story in few paragraphs. I got two articles which can help you too.

Just a summary, Lingayats group was formed by Basavanna. They follow a separate God which look like Shivaling of Hindu God. They wear that form of God called Ishtalinga (above pic).
Basavanna formed this group to save people from Hindu caste system and too many rituals. They preached equality and work is worship.

Here is another website which looks like created by few individuals. There they call the person as धर्म गुरू बसवॆष्वर who has established the Lingayats religion. But Lingayats belief system are almost matching at both places so we can have meaningful view about the religion.

Congress believes that breaking this faction from Hindu can help them get votes in election which is 2-3 months away. Lingayats think that they can ask for reservation as minority religion. BJP's Yeddyurappa is thought of as a big leader of Lingayats. Lingayats is 16-18% of Karnataka vote bank.
Now, who is right and who is wrong here and should there be new religion or not! You decide. My main focus was to understand What is Lingayats.

Ram Rahim is a religious guru who is very famous in Punjab and Haryana. There are some pending legal cases against him. Verdict of One case of Rape against Dera Sacha Sauda chief is tomorrow.

Believers are throwing tantrum. They want to force legal system to declare result in their favor by threating violence. They want all cased cleared against Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh as per what they think is right.

Ram Rahim is full of life leader. He play football, do disco and acted as lead role in movie.

I have formed no view on this on either side. I am waiting for verdict. Hoping for truth comes as winner tomorrow. #RamRahimVerdict

Why Muslims are Restless !

Muslims are generally restless with their religions. I think it is the points written in their religious text book which is responsible for all these!

I just wandered to a website which was about converting to Islam. I got the link through an Ads displayed on YouTube. I read the website first page as fun.

Few lines from the website, which also mention the source of it are:

“...The only religion in the sight of God is Islam...” (Quran 3:19)
“If anyone desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him; and in the Hereafter, he will be in the ranks of those who have lost (their selves in the Hellfire).” (Quran 3:85)
“Indeed God has forbidden to reside eternally in Hell the person who says: “I testify that none has the right to be worshiped except Allah (God),’ seeking thereby the Face of God.” (Saheeh Al-Bukhari)
