Kannidagas and Tamil people may fight much with each other, but they are well spread in each other’s state. These days common cause of fight is over the Hogenakkal Integrated Drinking Water Project.
18.9 lakh (10 lakh = 1 million) Tamils have made home to Karnataka. Number of Tamils in Karnataka is double than the number of Kannadigas in Tamil Nadu. Number of Kannada speaking is 10.5 lakh in Tamil Nadu, which is 1.7 per cent of the population of the state.
Tamils are spread largely over south Indian States only. Andhra have 7.7 lakh Tamils, Kerala has nearly 6 lakh Tamil speaking persons and Delhi has just almost one lakh. Whereas Kannadigas in Andhra Pradesh is 5.65 lakh. In Maharashtra number of Kannadigas are 12.54 lakh, is the highest outside Karnataka. Delhi are home to 11 thousands and Goa are home to 75 thousands Kannadigas.
